What are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centers in the human body. The word “chakra” means “wheel” or “disc” in Sanskrit, and refers to energy points that are considered to be located along the spine and correspond to different aspects of the human experience.

What are the main Chakras?

There are seven main chakras, each associated with a specific color, region of the body, psychological function, and spiritual expression. These chakras are, from the bottom to the top of the spine: the root chakra ‘Muladhara‘ (red), the sacral chakra ‘Swadisthana‘ (orange), the solar plexus chakra ‘Manipura‘ (yellow), the heart chakra ‘Anahata‘ (green), the throat chakra ‘Vishudha‘ (light blue), the third eye chakra ‘Ajna‘ (indigo) and the crown chakra ‘Sahasrara‘ (purple).

Imbalances and blockages

A chakra imbalance can occur when one or more of the chakras are blocked, underactive or overactive. This can lead to disturbances in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects.
For example, a root chakra blockage can manifest as physical health issues such as chronic pain, fatigue, or digestive issues, as well as feelings of fear, insecurity, or lack of self-confidence. An imbalance in the heart chakra can lead to relationship difficulties, emotional problems such as depression or anxiety, as well as physical problems related to the heart or lungs.
To remedy these imbalances, I offer therapy sessions (based on yogic psychology), support for introspection and awareness of problems in order to find appropriate solutions. I also use other techniques such as yoga, meditation, visualization and others. Yogic psychological therapy helps restore balance to the chakras by releasing blockages and restoring a harmonious flow of energy throughout the body and mind.
